First Stage instructor
Melissa Goldman is an Early Childhood Educator and Theatre Creative. She is highly involved within the theatre community here in Champaign Urbana whether it be onstage or behind the scenes. She graduated with a BFA in Theatre Studies with a concentration in Dramaturgy and Directing from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Prior to that she attended Parkland College where she earned her Associates in Arts studying early childhood education, development, language, and art, along with vocal performance and theatre performance.
Melissa has taught at Next Generation Early Education for the past 5 years working in all age groups within the building and has found her new home as the Fine Arts teacher!
Local theatregoers may have seen her as Dr. Charlotte in Falsettos or Constance in Ride the Cyclone, both at The Station Theatre, where she will be directing Sondheim’s Assassins next spring. Outside of theatre and education, Melissa loves to go to the movies, cosplay with her friends, and paint. She has had her paintings displayed for various art shows throughout CU. She looks forward to exploring the first stages of theatre and music with Class Act students, and of course having fun!
